I was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, but have spent a lot of time in both Paris and Japan. I am an adjunct professor of French and Japanese, and so my work takes me to sites around the world for conferences, giving me plenty of opportunities to take photos in my spare time.

I have exhibited my work at both the San Mateo County Faire and the annual Foster City Art and Wine Festival and have won several awards for my still-life works. Some of my work is featured in the book Images of America: Foster City (Arcadia Publishing, 2005), to which I was also a contributing writer. [link]

When shooting travel photography, I try to capture the essence of the locale—the people, the colors, the food, the daily lifestyles, and, of course, the famous monuments. Of all the places I’ve visited, Paris remains my favorite to photograph." An upcoming series, entitled ‘Paris: Ville Touriste, Ville Insolite’ (Paris: Hidden Gems in a Tourist City) will showcase both the world famous and the hidden sides of the city.

Although I specialize in studio still lifes and travel photography, I try not to limit myself to any one style or genre, as you will see in my "Other Photos" section. I have photographed flowers, marine life, animals and modes of transportation, civil aircraft being my favorite.
