Thank you to everyone who supported me in my gallery showing.  It was a good learning experience, and I hope to do additional showings in the future.

Having shown at a juried exhibition has emboldened me to continue submitting to other exhibits.  I will be entering my work in the San Mateo County Fair again, and hope to take the next step to get a sales license and start selling at different local events.

Gallery Showing

1 min read
I will be showing my work at the Foster City Art Gallery from February 25 through April 2. The gallery is located inside the recreation center at 650 Shell Blvd. Foster City, CA.  The work will be on display and select pieces will be available for sale, with prices as posted.

The artist reception has yet to be scheduled, but will be announced when the date is selected.

Whew, it's been awhile since I have had the chance to update this page.  I've had a lot of things happen on the photography front since I last updated.

:bulletorange:I gathered my guts and submitted my photos to a juried gallery and was accepted for display. :woot:  I will be having a private showing in the Foster City Art Gallery from February 25-April 5, 2019, with a planned artist reception at a date TBA.  More on that as I get the information.

:bulletorange:I've gotten some time, and am now preparing the holiday cards. If anyone wants to purchase a holiday card with an original photo, cards are $4.00 each, or 4 for $15.00 mix and match designs.  You can see some of the designs in the gallery folder "Holiday and Special Occasion Cards."

:bulletorange:I now have a large format printer and will be experimenting with different printing styles.  I will be able to offer giclee prints in up to 11x17 (previously, I was only able to offer  up to 8x10).  I will also be looking at doing glass prints and metallic prints--metallic prints are already available through the DA site.

:bulletorange: If you are wondering why my DA gallery page looks a bit different, that was part of the submission requirement for the juried selection--they wanted only 2 pieces maximum to judge, so I had to limit the "Featured" ones to my favorite 20.

I hope to be around on here a bit more frequently.  You can also find me on Facebook at www.facebook.com/10000greeting…

Whew, being a full-time professor is murder!  So, after being on hiatus for the entire academic year, I finally have time to revamp my website and to upload many of the photos that I have accumulated through the year.

:bulletorange: In January, my boss and I took a group of 11 Sacramento State students to Matsuyama (Ehime-ken, Shikoku) for a short-term study abroad/exchange program with Ehime University.  I am still going through the numerous photos I took there (I had to clear my 16GB stick twice) as well as going through photos from my phone and point-and-shoot pocket camera.

:bulletwhite: In April, the Japanese program at Sac State put on its annual "Japan Day" festival. In addition to doing the candid shots around the festival, I was also in charge of running the kimono photo booth.  For a $2 donation, visitors could dress up in a kimono of their choice, I would take their photo, and they would receive a print of it.  (Thank you, Canon portable dye-sub!)  They could use their own phone and take a photo for free.  A big thank you to the Sacramento State Department of Design for letting me borrow the light blue backdrop. :yay:

:bulletorange: Summer break is finally here! And I think I am finally getting into the summer rhythm.

Regarding the website revamp...
:bulletorange: Prices and availability will still remain the same as they are currently.  Framed and matted photos are available on a first-come, first-served basis; when they are gone, they are gone. If you want one that sold, just drop me a line and I will try to duplicate it as best as I can (subject to frame availability).

:bulletwhite: Larger size items and things I cannot print in house can be purchased through my DA Prints account.  Every photo on this site is available as a print, and on other items as well.

:bulletorange: 10,000 Greetings is getting a Facebook page.  Facebook is where you will see all my note card series (a series is 4 cards with a particular theme--ex. holiday, city, night, etc.)  I will update this journal when it goes live.

I will be exhibiting and selling my work at the Foster City Art and wine Festival.  If you live in the Bay Area, feel free to stop by and chat. I will have prints for sale, framed prints, matted prints (no frame) photo prints only (no mat or frame--just the photo) and note cards.  See my website 10000greetings.homestead.com for more details on pricing.
